Apple launches the new iPhone 3G
The day long awaited by many people finally arrived. Apple, the company that created the iPhone, introduced this afternoon the new 3G iPhone, the successor of the cell that changed the way in which we are connected.
From San Francisco, California, Steve Jobs was responsible for introducing the new device that incorporates the technology of 3G mobile communications. With it, it gives a better access to high-speed data.
Another improvement is the new iPhone OS X 2.0, which will compete side by side with the BlackBerry. The device also features GPS for spatial location (using Google Maps). Another great detail is that many software development companies are making games for iPhone, which makes it a new gaming platform to compete against the Sony PSP and Nokia N-Gage.
Where we have no changes, is in the camera, which remains at 2 MP, nor has camcorder in its front to perform video conference. But this is a minor downfall if one takes into account the price of new technological gadget: only 199 dollars in the 8 GB version.
According to Jobs, the new iPhone is much faster than other phones in its category, as the Nokia N95 or Palm Treo.
It is expected to be available in 70 countries before year’s end (in South America, Venezuela and Bolivia are discarded).
The new 3G iPhone will be available next July 11 and a little later in the rest of the world.
