Body Hair Removal methods for men
It doesn’t matter the reason, body hair removal, or body shaving has become a part of a man grooming and skin care. It seems fare to review some of the most used methods. Let’s dive into this fascinating world.
Razor shaving
This is probably the best method for shaving your beard, but I strongly discourage you to use it for removing your chest or leg hair, especially if you are new in the field. It has the painful downside of making your skin itch like hell when the hair grows back. And that’s not all, bumps may appear, you can cut yourself and… well, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are other methods for removing the hair. Yes, maybe it seems the easiest at first glance, but, read on…
Waxing
In few words, it’s a simple process, the wax is heated, poured on your body, then, a special paper then is put on top of the wax, while it’s hot. Finally, we wait to the wax to cool off, and here comes the worst part, the plucking. As you can imagine, it’s a rather painful method, but it has the advantage of grabbing the hair from the roots, what causes it to grow weaker and weaker every new time you wax it.
Hair removal creams
Here’s another option if you want to get rid of unwanted hair on your body. Sure, they are for now mostly targeted to women, but hey! times are changing, and more and more men are hopping on to the hair removal creams wagon.
The hair removal or depilatory creams, work by reacting with the protein structure of the hair . This way the hair dissolves and can be wiped or cleaned off. These kind of products are everywhere from drugstores to “As Seen on TV” commercials and are spreading more and more thanks to the increasing demand of men an women.
The effect of depilatory creams last from several days to a couple of weeks, and they work quickly and easy.
The bad side to hair removal creams is that they can give an allergic reaction to people with sensitive skin caused by the chemicals used in the composition (in this cases, the best thing to do is to see a dermatologist). They also tend to have a strong odor, and can be somewhat ineffective used by people with coarse hair.
Laser Hair Removal
Believe it or not, this method is becoming increasingly popular, in spite of its cost. Is intended to cause thermal damage to the hair follicle without damaging surrounding tissues. The downside is that it takes half a year to get rid of the hair completely, and good news, it can last several months or even be permanent.
Electrolysis treatment
Caution: this treatment involves needles!!!
In this process, a needle is inserted under your skin, and then electricity is used to destroy the hair follicle. This is permanent, no more hairs ever, because of the destruction of the follicle. This might be perfect for some people, but he price is higher than the price of the laser removal. When talking about electrolysis, is hard to find prices lower than $1000, but again, you might consider it is worthy.
Whatever you do, if it is permanent think about it. There is enough space for hairy or shaven man in this world, nothing is better than the other. It is about you feeling good with yourself…
