Goodbye Yves, we will miss you
Yves Saint Laurent, one of the great French fashion designers of the twentieth century, died this evening in Paris, said the Foundation Pierre Bergé-Saint-Laurent.

Saint Laurent gave power to women, creating for them a “contemporary look”, with male like clothes and trousers with his famous tuxedo or suit like dresses.
Born on August 1, 1936 in Oran (Algeria), Yves Saint-Laurent-Mathieu arrived with 17 years in Paris, where he began drawing designs with which managed to draw the attention of Christian Dior (1954), becoming his outstripped disciple and his successor after his unexpected death in 1957.
His first parade, held in 1958, was a success for the young artistic director, who presented his collection “Trapecio” which broke with wasp waists, very popular at the time.
In 1960, Saint Laurent was associated with Pierre Bergé to give birth to his own signature. Together, the creator and administrator, erected an empire of luxury, which covered hi couture, pret-a-porter and perfumes.
The emporium Yves Saint Laurent was purchased in 1993 by industry group Elf-Sanofi, which would be the beginning of its end. This prince of fashion, whose art lay in its boldness, said goodbye to the hi couture in 2002, after 40 years of exciting creations, because he “no longer recognized himself in this profession” and was exhausted by the financial acrobatics.
