To shave or not to shave: Reasons for Men Body Hair Removal.
I’ve been hearing the same question over and over: Should men be hairy or shaven?, and, which part of the body is most commonly shaved? Obviously, as what happens with fashion, the answer to this question is ever changing, and depends on what times, country or social level you are living in. Nevertheless, it is true that more and more men are starting to shave their bodies to get the look they want.
The reasons are as varied as different. Some do it because they claim they look and feel “cleaner”, some do it to let the muscles (and even penis) show, or look bigger, other do it to increase their physical performance in sports (cyclists, swimmers, etc.) and some do it because their partners tell them. On the other hand, lots of people still prefer thick beards, and hairy chests, armpits, legs and penises. So, let’s try to shed some light into the subject…
The first and most important thing that we need to have in mind is that when it comes to removing body hair, whether it’s on your head or face, under your arms, or on or between your legs, there’s no incorrect decision because the act is naturally reversible, and it takes no time for hair to grow back. So, if you wanna try the “clean” thery and shave your hairy legs today, if it doesn’t make you feel any “cleaner” tomorrow, relax, the hair will return. Or, in the same path, let’s say you shave your chest hair and discover that, without it, you similar to a plucked chicken. Squawk not, your feathers will eventually grow back in no time.
Also, It is true that bikers, swimmers, runners, and other athletes have been shaving for years as a tactic for improving their speed; but, more and more, pop culture has jumped into the game , with it’s metrosexual tendency. Take a look at some male-oriented sports and fashion magazines: there’s plenty of beef, but where’s the hair? So, since hairless supermodels and athletes are in vogue, it’s doubtful that you will become a shaved-legged laughing stock at this summer’s beach parties and barbecues. And yes, you may even discover that few notice your “hair nakedness”, as many guys have very little hair on their legs, arms, chests, etc. from the get go.
So, don’t lose time thinking about this, if you have at least curiosity, give it a try and find out if it’s fit you or not, but don’t do it if it makes you uncomfortable, don’t do it because your partner asks you, because you’ll surely regret it.
