The Museum of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust is devoted to the history of the hospital and personalities connected with the hospital since its inception in 1852. Part of the Museum and Archive Service, the museum shows artefacts, artworks, photographs and documents and in addition there are three book collections.

The College of Optometrists is the custodian of the British Optical Association Museum, the premier optical collection in the country comprising historic spectacles and lenses, pince-nez, opera glasses, contact lenses, opticians' equipment, orthoptic devices, models of eye disease, paintings and prints. The BOA Library has an outstanding collection of books on optics and the workings of the human eye from the sixteenth century to the present.

The Hunterian Museum collections have been brought together over four centuries by a cast of colourful characters including the surgeon and anatomist John Hunter (1728-1793). They are a fascinating mix of human and animal anatomy and pathology specimens, wax teaching models, surgical and dental instruments as well as paintings, drawings and sculpture.
